A long-running Bracknell building firm has fixed an elderly couple's roof for free after scammers claiming to be from the company swindled £44,000 from them for a "two-hour job". The conmen claimed to be working for Goss and Sons, based in Quintilis in Great Hollands, and targeted the elderly couple at their home in Bagshot, Surrey. They charged the couple £44,000 for a week of repairs to their roof which were not carried out and even made the 86-year-old man go to the bank to draw out money to pay them.
