About the Business

I'm Mick McTominay and I run Glasgow Roofmasters. I've been working on roofs for 25 years now, and most of that time has been spent on houses and buildings in and around this city. We're a small company. That suits me fine, because it means I know every job we've got on and I know the people we're doing it for. If you need roof repairs in Glasgow, or something bigger, we'll come out, have a proper look and tell you straight what we think.

Our office is at 236 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow, G2 3HQ. We're open Monday to Saturday from 9 in the morning until 6 at night, and we're closed on Sundays. You can ring us on 0141 266 0600, or if you'd rather call in, here's our Glasgow roof repair office on Google Maps. Plenty of people like to talk things through over the phone first, and that's no bother at all.

We cover Glasgow itself and the towns around it. That means Paisley, Bishopbriggs, Cambuslang, Clydebank, Cumbernauld, East Kilbride and Newton Mearns. If you're near one of those and you're not sure whether we'll come out to you, just give us a ring and ask. It costs nothing to check.

Repairs are the bread and butter of what we do. A slipped slate, a cracked tile, a felt roof that's started letting water in, a flat roof lifting at the edges. Most roofs don't need replacing when something goes wrong. They need fixing properly. As a rough guide, repairs run from about £20 to £60 per square metre for asphalt shingles, £50 to £120 for concrete tiles, £60 to £130 for clay tiles and £75 to £200 for natural slate. Felt is around £40 to £60, EPDM rubber £60 to £100 and fibreglass £90 to £140.

Then there are the jobs that can't wait. Water coming through the ceiling, tiles or slates blown off in the wind, flashing that's come away, ridge tiles down, or a roof that needs tarping over before the next lot of rain arrives. Most emergency repairs come in at £500 to £700. Storm damage tends to sit between £500 and £1,500. If a section of roof has collapsed, you're usually looking at £1,000 to £3,000. Phone us as soon as you spot the problem, because a small leak left alone rarely stays small.

Restoration is for roofs that are tired but still sound underneath. Rather than rip everything off, we put right what's worn and bring the roof back into good order, and it often works out a fair bit cheaper than starting again. Rough prices per square metre are £20 to £50 for concrete tiles, £25 to £60 for clay tiles and £50 to £150 for natural slate. Asphalt shingles are £40 to £90, felt £30 to £50, EPDM £40 to £70 and fibreglass £40 to £90. We'll tell you honestly if your roof is a good candidate for it or not.

Sometimes a roof's just done. When that's the case, we'll say so, and we'll fit you a new one. Installed prices per square metre are roughly £50 to £80 for asphalt shingles, £100 to £160 for concrete tiles, £120 to £250 for clay tiles and £200 to £350 for natural slate. For flat roofs, felt is around £60 to £110, EPDM £90 to £150 and fibreglass £90 to £160. Slate costs the most, there's no getting round that. We'll talk you through the different materials before you decide anything.

Leadwork is a trade of its own, and it's where a lot of leaks start. Chimney flashing is about £100 to £200 per metre, lead ridge caps £40 to £110 per metre, and a chimney cap anywhere from £100 to £500. Flashing round a roof window usually comes to £500 to £1,200. Get the lead right and the rest of the roof has a far easier time of it.

We do soffits and fascias as well. To be honest, we usually end up looking at them anyway when we're up the ladder. Soffit comes in at around £35 to £80 per metre, fascia £30 to £75. Do both at once and you're looking at roughly £65 to £155 per metre. If yours are looking a bit tired, it's worth doing them together so we're not back out later for a separate job.

Mind, all of those figures are rough guides. They're off the price pages on our website, last updated in October 2026, and they're just there so you've got a ballpark before we talk. No two roofs are the same. Access, what state things are in underneath and how big the job is will all shift the number. You only get a proper price once we've had a look. And if there's a few repairs needing done, we do volume discounts, so it makes sense to get them all seen to at the same time.

Everything we do comes with a 5-year full warranty. You get the manufacturers' own warranties on the materials on top of that. We've got liability insurance, and every job's done to Scottish Building Standards, whether it's a couple of slates or a full strip. You don't pay extra for any of that. That's just how we work.

Here's how it goes. You give us a ring on 0141 266 0600. Tell us what's going on, a drip in the loft or a roof that's done its time, and we'll sort a time to come round and see it.

The inspection's free. We'll go over the roof, tell you what we've found, and be straight about what needs doing and what can wait. Then you get a written quote so you know exactly what you're signing up for. No obligation. Have a think, show it to your other half, get other quotes if you want. We'd rather you were sure.

If you're happy to go ahead, we'll sort out a start date that suits you. Then our lads get on with it, and we'll keep you posted as the job goes along. Sometimes we get up there and find something you couldn't see at the inspection. If that happens we'll talk to you first. We won't touch it until you've said so.

Once it's done, we'll go through the work with you so you know exactly where you stand.

That's it, really. We're not the biggest roofing firm in Glasgow and we've no interest in being. We'd rather do a good job at a fair price for folk who'll ring us again next time they need a roofer. Got a roof problem anywhere from Clydebank to East Kilbride? Give us a call and we'll come out and take a look.
