About the Business

My father "Alan David Humphrey" (1939-2004) founded Humphrey Construction in 1972 after qualifying as a Carpenter having completed his apprenticeship at John Dickinson Paper Mill in Hemel Hempstead, I left school to join my father and attended St Albans College on day release which enabled me to qualify for a City & Guilds in carpentry and joinery in 1985 which was awarded by 'Hertfordshire College of Building',. Our aim has always been to provide client satisfaction to a degree which would ensure that 95% of all new work came from existing customers. Testimony to this an extensive client portfolio, established over 24 years. The company, in the early days, worked mainly on the construction of infrastructure for the rapidly growing housing market in the new towns formed from the London over-spill. Over the years, the company has diversified from private house building into other markets in order to maintain and improve its market position.
